THE PROJECT

For over 15 years, the Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) has supported individuals from grass roots organisations around the world making a proven impact on the conservation of nature for both people and wildlife.  Their flagship grants, the Whitley Awards, are highly respected in the sector and recognise achievement. Throughout this time the organisation has evolved from an awards scheme in conjunction with partner organisations, into a fully registered independent charity.

As well as providing monetary funding, WFN also aims to support local conservation leaders though offering international profile, advice and networking opportunities. Following their 15th anniversary, WFN wanted to review their achievements and assess options for the future.

WHAT WE DID

Developed a feasibility study exploring the current status of the organisation; its place within the environmental conservation sector as a whole; and identified key opportunities for growth and future funding as well as key issues the organisation should consider when taking strategic decisions and opportunities for growth and future funding.

THE RESULTS

The full report we developed enabled WFN to commence their strategic planning process for the next five years for the long-term development of the charity.
